For as long as I can remember I have fantisised/ fetishized about owning a Leica rangefinder. In fact, I would even go as far as saying I was a cult follower of the brand and its history. I'd set up a seperate savings account with the nickname "Leica savings" and did the deep dive into which of the M6 vs MP vs M-A (analogue cameras) was the most rizz-worthy. Also, which one would be the intergenerational camera that I could eventually pass down to my son. I was convinced on all of them. In fact, I even dabbled and used a friends M11 (digital), as I was considered ditching all my Fuji gear and making the (monumental) financial and emotional leap to Leica.

However, I still to this day shoot exclusively on Fuji and have no plans on buying a Leica camera for one simple reason. Price.

If money were no object (I was loaded), I would no doubt own both a digital Leica, as well as one of the analogue variants. They are undeniably beautiful pieces of engineering and are just a joy to use. Period. That said, if you are like me, a middle-income hobbyist photographer, spending $10-$20k on a camera being used for candid family memories is objectively a silly decision. Financially...

I just think for the price-to-performance ratio, Fuji is unbeatable for us financial mortals & hobbyists. The Fuji Xpro3 has been my go to for the past few years. It has all the rangefinder features and tactility (OVF + EVF), an extensive 1st & 3rd party interchangeable lenses system (that's affordable, killer in-camera JPG's, RAW, autofocus, and even LOG 4K Video.

For all you cashed up, or diligent saving folk about to pull the trigger and buy a Leica - good on you! They are gorgeous cameras and the lenses that Leica make produce some stunning imagery. On that note, I'll leave you with some of my favourite images I captured with the Leica M6 + Leica M11...
