Why do people (myself included) love this lens so much? On paper, it kind of sucks. It's a fixed focal length, it has slow-ish and clunky autofocus that extends in and out randomly (making all sorts of noises) and its got a very "middle thermometer" maximum aperture of f2.8 (or f4.0 FF Equiv.).
